"The Beatles" (aka The White Album). Originally released in December 1968, this historic double album featured lots of new material written while the Beatles were out together in India - returning to the U. With lots of demos to record (many of which are now in the public domain).
The diversity of the songs showcased each member to be at their creative peak, from sincere gentle and introspective songs, to what we now know as heavy hard rock, to the fun family singalongs. Following Sgt Pepper was no easy task and as far as the cover was concerned, the all-white approach worked.
The first edition gatefold covers were pressed and embossed on the front with'The Beatles' and each individually numbered.
